    1. [S343] Ancestors and Descendants of Philip Bullen, Holman, Mary, (Bullen Family), Appendix. p.125 (Reliability: 2).
Much of this author's information is taken from Messervy's La Geneologie of la famille Messervy. No information to substantiate the original Jean is available but based on the following: entente of 1331 refers to Jean Messervy of St. Martin's as being one of the "ancient" of St. Martins. Father of Clément/Jean. Also a second Jean Messervy reference is found associated with la Chesnée around 1460 and La Genealogy proposes that these are likely the same "jean". p.1

    2. [S111] Généalogie de La Famille Messervy, J.A.Messervy, (Higginson Book Company, Salem, MA, reprinted. Originally published by author1899), 1 (Reliability: 2).
Messervy provides background information to conclude that the Jean Messervy referred to in the Extente de 1331 and in 1308 Parish are same but to date no concrete evidence exists to support this.
